| Q: | What is the deductible? |
| A: | With travel medical insurance plans, you have a choice of deductible. Usually $100, $250 or $500. This is one-time deductible per policy period, and it is the amount you will have to pay, in the event of a claim, before the insurance company will start to contribute. |
| Q: | What is the medical limit? |
| A: | The medical limit is the maximum amount that the insurance company will pay for eligible medical expenses. It is available in various amounts - from $50,000 to $1,000,000. AHA students typically purchase $50,000 coverage - which meets minimum requirements. |
| Q: | How long does it take to get coverage? |
| A: | The whole process is very quick - but it will also depend on your method of payment. The quickest and easiest way to get coverage is by using a major credit card. If you pay by check/money order or bank wire transfer, it can take a little longer, because we have to wait for payment to arrive before a policy can be issued. |
| Q: | How will I receive confirmation of coverage? |
| A: | Once payment is received and your policy is issued, you will receive confirmation of coverage via email and/or by regular mail to the addresses provided on your application. You will also receive an insurance ID card. |
| Q: | Can I check the status of my application online? |
| A: | Yes - you can login at our website at www.internationalplan.com/policies.html - login with your email address and birthdate. You can check status, get policy information and even view confirmation of coverage. |
| Q: | How will AHA receive confirmation of coverage? |
| A: | We will notify AHA by email as soon as your policy is issued. AHA will receive an electronic confirmation of coverage. |
| Q: | What if my program dates change. Can I adjust the dates for my insurance? |
| A: | Yes - but we simply ask that you notify us in writing (either email or fax) before the effective date of your coverage. It is easy to adjust your dates before the coverage goes in to effect. |
| Q: | If I can't come to the U.S., can I cancel my coverage and get a full refund? |
| A: | Yes - we simply ask that you notify us in writing (either email or fax) before the effective date of your coverage. You will be refunded your entire premium in full. |
